AAA: GEORGIA’S GAS PRICES HELD STEADY IN THE PAST WEEK

Georgia’s gas prices held steady over the past week, reports AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists continue to pay the average price of $2.96 per gallon of regular unleaded. That’s the same as last week, a cent more than this time last month, and 97 cents more than this time last year.

It now costs $44.40 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline; that’s $7.50 more than what motorists paid in January of 2020, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.46 per gallon.

As stated by Montrae Waiters, AAA spokeswoman, “Georgia gas prices saw minimal or no change at the pumps across the state. We anticipate demand will continue to decline in the weeks ahead as drivers traditionally take fewer road trips towards the end of summer and the rise of coronavirus infections.”

Sunday’s national average of $3.16 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is two cents less than a week ago, one cent more than a month ago, and 98 cents more than this time last year.
