CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

According to the latest update from the Georgia Department of Public Health this past Friday afternoon, a total of 1,019,585 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported across the state since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll stands at 19,179. There have been 11,125 confirmed cases in Floyd County, which has also had 204 fatalities. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases with 94,048. Fulton County has had the most fatalities with 1,401.

As of the most recent update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard this past Friday, 9,345,810 vaccines have been administered across the state; 49 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 42 percent have been fully vaccinated. In Floyd County, 39 percent of residents have had at least a dose, while 34 percent have been fully vaccinated.
