CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 5,251 new cases of coronavirus and 32 more virus-related fatalities were reported across Georgia on Tuesday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,041,512 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 19,275. The number of confirmed cases totaled 11,522 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 204 deaths. Fulton County had the most confirmed cases in this state with 95,304 and the most deaths with 1,404.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard on Tuesday, 9,463,125 vaccines have been administered across the state; 50 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 42 percent have been fully vaccinated. Here in Floyd County, 40 percent of residents have had at least a dose, while 35 percent have been fully vaccinated.
