CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 7,411 new cases of coronavirus and 90 more virus-related fatalities were reported in Georgia on Wednesday by this state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,048,892 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 19,364. The number of confirmed cases totaled 11,617 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 205 deaths. Fulton County had the most confirmed cases in this state with 95,788 and the most fatalities with 1,407.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard Wednesday, 9,502,114 vaccines have been administered across the state; 50 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 43 percent have been fully vaccinated. In Floyd County, 40 percent of residents have had at least a dose, while 35 percent have been fully vaccinated.
