The Sara Hightower Regional Library System (that includes the Rome-Floyd County Library) will observe Library Card Sign-Up Month in September.
Amelia Blackmon, Branch Services and Outreach Manager, indicates that the yearly observation has been made in cooperation with the American Library Association since 1987.
Anyone who signs up for a library card in September at any branch within the system will be entered into a drawing to win prizes, adds Blackmon.
Sign-up events will be held throughout the month around the library system, which serves Floyd, Polk, and Chattooga Counties. Blackmon urges readers to stay tuned to social media for updates.
September is also observed annually as National Literacy Month.
