NL EAST-LEADING ATLANTA BRAVES RETURN TO ACTION THIS WEEKEND VERSUS NL WEST-LEADING SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS

The National League East-leading Atlanta Braves had back-to-back days off, and they will return to action over the weekend with a three game set against the San Francisco Giants at Truist Park. Max Fried will serve as the starting pitcher for Atlanta in tonight’s opener, while Kevin Gausman will head to the mound for San Francisco. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:20 pm. The game will not air on WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM due to our coverage of high school football tonight. WLAQ will, however, air coverage from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network of Saturday night’s and Sunday’s games.

The Braves are currently 68-58 on the season and hold a five and a half game lead in the NL East over the second place Philadelphia Phillies (who lost their third straight on Thursday evening). The Giants hold the MLB-best record of 83-44 and lead the NL West by two and one-half games over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
