The final First Friday concert of 2021 is scheduled for this Friday, September 3rd at 7 pm on the Town Green in downtown Rome. Kindred Fire, a local duo consisting of musicians Austen Earp and Haley Morgan, will perform. Megan Otwell, the Director of Public Relations for Rome’s Downtown Development Authority, states that many people are excited to have a local act wrap up this year’s First Friday concert series.
Parking will be free in the 4th and 3rd Avenue parking decks, says Otwell, who encourages attendees to practice social distancing as much as possible at this outdoor event.
Downtown businesses will be participating in open container; outside coolers or drinks will not be permitted.
The turnout thus far for the First Friday concert series, which began in June, has been ‘amazing’, according to Otwell.
First Friday concerts are free to the public, thanks to the financial support of the downtown Business Improvement District (or BID). Otwell urges locals to support those businesses.
Plans are already in the works for the 2022 First Friday concert series, attests Otwell.
