BRIGHTER BIRTHDAYS HAS HIT THE GROUND RUNNING IN THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR, DESPITE CORONAVIRUS CHALLENGES

Local non-profit Brighter Birthdays continues its mission to ensure brighter birthdays for underresourced children in Rome and Floyd County, in spite of the challenges posed by coronavirus. Cristin Warden, founder, indicates that as of next week, around 1,000 backpacks filled with party supplies and gifts will have been delivered to local schools since the beginning of the 2021-22 school year; the overall goal for the year is 2,500.

Additional assistance is needed with packing the remaining backpacks, states Warden, who adds that this is a great opportunity for anyone that aims to rack up some service hours.

Donations of party supplies, school supplies, toiletries, and money are also sought, says Warden. For more information, visit www.brighterbirthdays.org or check out Brighter Birthdays’ social media outlets.
