CORONAVIRUS VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 4,829 new cases of coronavirus and 155 more virus-related deaths were reported across Georgia on Thursday by the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,144,884 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 20,453. The number of confirmed cases totaled 13,548 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 220 fatalities. Fulton County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 101,921 and the most deaths with 1,435.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard Thursday, 9,972,569 of the vaccines have been administered across the state; 52 percent of Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 45 percent have been fully vaccinated. In Floyd County, 42 percent of residents have had at least a dose, while 36 percent are fully vaccinated.
