CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 4,840 new cases of coronavirus and 101 more virus-related deaths were reported across Georgia on Tuesday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,169,437 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 20,806. The number of confirmed cases totaled 14,043 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 231 fatalities. Fulton County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 103,716 and the most deaths with 1,451.

As of the latest update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard Tuesday, 10,129,933 vaccines have been administered across the state; 53 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 45 percent have been fully vaccinated. In Floyd County, 43 percent of residents have had at least a dose, while 37 percent are fully vaccinated.
