Locals are invited to play pickleball for a good cause on Saturday, September 25th! The Rome Tennis Center and pickleball enthusiasts will join forces that day to present the Inaugural Pickleball Partnership Tournament to benefit the Exchange Club Family Resource Center. The tourney will be held over at the Downtown Tennis Center at 8 am. It will be a Coed Doubles (two partners of any gender) Round Robin Event.
If you have never played pickleball, event organizer Leanne Mann states that this will be a great opportunity to learn the sport. Medals and gift bags will be given to the top players.
The cost to participate is $40. Players are asked to register in advance online at www.pickleballbrackets.com/?Rome by Friday, September 17th if possible, though any walk-ups will be permitted to play.
Tina Bartleson, FRC Executive Director, says that proceeds from the tourney will support the center’s mission of child abuse prevention which is facilitated by its Parent Aide program.
The Exchange Club Family Resource Center is celebrating their 30th year of service to Rome and Floyd County in 2021. For more information, visit their website at www.FRCRome.org.
The Inaugural Pickleball Partnership Tournament will be an outside event; as such, masks will only be required inside Tennis Center facilities.
