PARKS AND REC TO CELEBRATE RECENTLY COMPLETED SPLOST PROJECTS WITH SEPTEMBER 21ST RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY AT SHAG WILLIAMS PARK IN SHANNON

(Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation media release):
Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation invites the public to visit Shag Williams Park in Shannon on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 11:30 a.m. for a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open several recently completed SPLOST projects.

The ceremony celebrates the completion of several amenities at the park and facility, including a new HVAC system for the Shannon Center and Scout Hut, a new tennis court with LED lighting and brand new signage for the 18-hole disc golf course.

“Shag Williams Park is really one of the best-kept secrets as far as parks go in the county,” RFPRA Director Todd Wofford says. “It has some great fields and facilities, and we want everyone to be able to come out and see the difference the SPLOST funding has made.”
