JUNIOR SERVICE LEAGUE OF ROME KICKS OFF ANOTHER YEAR OF SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY

The Junior Service League of Rome is kicking off another year of service to the community.

Dawn Williams, Vice President, attests that she’s proud of the hard work and fund raising efforts of members during the last League year amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. In fact, a record $47,000 was raised via the Poinsettia Sale in 2020.

Proceeds from last year’s Poinsettia Sale were used to provide local students with supplies for this school year via the League4Learning initiative, asserts Williams.

JSL’s Garden Tour and Taste event in late April netted $23,000 in profits that will go back into the community, adds Williams.

Moving forward into this League year – Follies is slated to return to the Rome City Auditorium on February 4th and 5th (as of now), indicates Williams, who adds that a virtual ticket will be offered for the 2022 show.

A community kick-off for Follies ’22 is scheduled for January 16th; talented individuals from around Rome and Floyd County are invited by Williams to join the production. Sponsors are additionally sought.

The Junior Service League of Rome also plans to continue its support of this community via service projects and member drives in the 2021-2022 League year. For more information, visit www.jslofrome.com.
