CAVE SPRING PIGOUT BBQ COOKOFF TO RETURN TO ROLATOR PARK THIS SATURDAY

The Cave Spring Pigout BBQ Cookoff will return this Saturday, after a hiatus last year due to coronavirus concerns.

Curtis Burch, Chair of the Cave Spring Downtown Development Authority’s Board of Directors, anticipates that the 2021 Pigout will be a great kick off to the Fall.

Nine teams will compete for Judges and Peoples Choice awards at this year’s event to be held at Rolator Park in Cave Spring. Gates are scheduled to open at 10 am with tasting at 11 am. Admission is $5; the first 100 people through the gate will be permitted to taste. In addition to barbecue, there will be other food vendors, arts and crafts, and activities for the kids, says Burch.

Safety protocols have been established for the Pigout in regard to COVID-19, asserts Burch. Hand sanitization stations will be on site. Social distancing is encouraged, and attendees may wear masks if they prefer.

This event is a fundraiser for the Cave Spring DDA; proceeds will be used to promote and beautify the community, says Burch, who encourages attendees to patronize local businesses while in town.
