HAPPY FALL, Y’ALL!

Today is the first day of Fall! And weather forecasters predict that it will feel like it here in Northwest Georgia in the days and nights ahead.

The autumnal equinox will occur at 3:21 pm (EDT) today to mark the official arrival of this new season. This is one of two times of year when the amount of daylight and nighttime are equal, with the other in the Spring.

Showers are anticipated by the National Weather Service to clear out later on this afternoon and give way to partly sunny skies; high temperatures will be around the mid 70s today. Tonight’s forecast calls for mostly clear skies with lows dipping to around 50. Sunshine is predicted for Thursday with highs in the low 70s.
