ATLANTA BRAVES TAKE 3-0 LEAD IN SERIES WITH ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS

The Atlanta Braves beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-2 on Wednesday night in the third outing of a four-game set at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona; that was the fourth straight win for the National League East-leading Braves.

Austin Riley hit a solo home run, and Ozzie Albies and Freddie Freeman both contributed two run homers.

Ian Anderson was credited with the win for Atlanta after giving up just a run and two hits, walking one, and striking out eight over seven innings. Merrill Kelly took the loss for Arizona.

The Braves improved to 80-70 on the 2021 season and maintain a three game lead in the NL East over the Philadelphia Phillies (who were victorious over Baltimore on Wednesday night). They’ll wrap up their series out in Arizona versus the Diamondbacks this afternoon at 3:40 pm Eastern. The outing will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 2:25 pm from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.
