CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 3,508 new cases of coronavirus and 157 more virus-related deaths were reported in Georgia on Wednesday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,203,812 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 21,865. The number of confirmed cases totaled 14,650 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 257 fatalities. Fulton County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 106,302 and the most deaths with 1,500.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard Tuesday, 10,367,099 vaccines have been administered across the state; 54 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 47 percent have been fully vaccinated. In Floyd County, 44 percent of the residents have had at least a dose, while 39 percent are now fully vaccinated.
