ROME CITY COMMISSION EXPECTED TO DISCUSS THE FORMER NORTHWEST GEORGIA REGIONAL HOSPITAL DURING REGULAR MEETING THIS EVENING

Rome City Commissioners will gather in regular session this evening at City Hall (or City Auditorium) on Broad Street. They will hold a caucus at 5 pm in the Sam King Room; it will be followed by the meeting at 6:30 pm in the Commission Chambers.

On the agenda – a discussion about the purchase of property that was once Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital, says Rome’s Mayor Craig McDaniel. The State of Georgia accepted an offer of $2.25 million from the Rome-Floyd County Development Authority recently to purchase the site for the purposes of ecomonic development.

The Floyd County Commission is expected to discuss the former Northwest Regional property during their regular meeting on Tuesday over at the county Administration Building on East 4th Avenue in downtown Rome. They’ll hold a caucus at 4 pm in the Caucus Room (Suite 204), with that meeting to follow at 6 pm in the Community Room (Suite 206).
