ATLANTA BRAVES TO OPEN LAST HOMESTAND OF 2021 REGULAR SEASON WITH NL EAST BATTLE VERSUS PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES

The Atlanta Braves were off Monday and will open their last homestand of the regular season tonight with the first of three National League East battles versus the Philadelphia Phillies. Charlie Morton will serve as starting pitcher for Atlanta, and Atlanta-area native Zack Wheeler will head to the mound for Philadelphia. The first pitch is set for 7:20 pm at Truist Park. The game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 6:05 pm from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.

The Braves hold a record of 83-72 on the 2021 season and lead the NL East by two and a half games over the Phillies, who are 81-75.

Atlanta’s magic number to clinch their division now stands at five after a win out in San Diego, California over the Padres this past Sunday afternoon. The team’s final road trip of this year, which also included stops in San Francisco, CA and Phoenix, AZ, netted a total of seven wins and three losses (plus a loss in the opener of a double header versus the Padres on Friday night which was the completion of a game that was rained out in Atlanta back in July).

This final homestand of the regular season will conclude with three more NL East games versus the New York Mets at Truist Park over the weekend.
