NATIONAL LEAGUE EAST CHAMPION ATLANTA BRAVES CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON WITH SHUT OUT WIN OVER NEW YORK METS, NOW ONWARD TO THE MLB POSTSEASON!

The National League East champion Atlanta Braves closed out their regular season with a shutout win over the New York Mets by a final score of 5-0 on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a three-game set at Truist Park; that allowed the Braves to take the series 2-1.

Jorge Soler led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run. Austin Riley also drove in a pair of runs for Atlanta.

Spencer Strider secured his first major league win in relief. The starting pitcher Charlie Morton gave up one hit, walked none, and struck out three in two and two-third innings of work. Noah Syndergaard took the loss for New York.

It’s now onward to the MLB postseason! The Braves will open their National League Division Series in Milwaukee versus the Brewers this Friday.
