CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 6,827 new cases of coronavirus and 162 more virus-related deaths were reported across Georgia on Monday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,232,349 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 22,785. The number of confirmed cases totaled 15,026 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 266 fatalities. Fulton County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 108,644 and the most deaths with 1,533.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard Monday, 10,544,914 vaccines have been administered across the state; 54 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 48 percent have been fully vaccinated. Here in Floyd County, 45 percent of residents have had at least a dose, while 40 percent are now fully vaccinated.
