ROME DDA PLANS A PAIR OF SPECIAL OFFERINGS FOR THE WEEK OF HALLOWEEN

Rome’s Downtown Development Authority has planned a couple of special offerings for the week of Halloween.

The Downtown Rome Candy Crawl will take place on Wednesday, October 27th through Saturday, October 30th. Children ages 12 and under will be able to ‘Trick or Treat’ at participating businesses when dressed in costume. The Candy Crawl was introduced last year as a substitute for the Downtown Trick or Treat, according to Megan Otwell, Public Relations Director for the Rome DDA, who encourages families to look for the businesses with a large printed out candy corn in their windows.

A Halloween Movie Night will be held on the Town Green on the evening of Friday, October 29th. Attendees will be treated to a free screening of “Hocus Pocus”, which Otwell says is one of her favorite movies.

Movie goers are urged to wear costumes and enter to win the grand prize in a costume contest.

DDA events are sponsored by the downtown Business Improvement District (aka BID). Otwell hopes that revelers in downtown Rome will support these businesses.
