CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 1,549 new cases of coronavirus and 63 more virus-related deaths were reported in Georgia on Wednesday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,247,631 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 23,575. The number of confirmed cases totaled 15,232 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 285 deaths. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 110,303. Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,562.

As of the most recent update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard on Wednesday, 10,822,549 vaccines have been administered across this state; 55 percent of Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 49 percent have been fully vaccinated. Here in Floyd County, 46 percent of residents have had at least a dose, while 41 percent are now fully vaccinated.
