CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 854 new cases of coronavirus and 70 more virus-related fatalities were reported across Georgia on Tuesday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,260,262 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 24,509. The number of confirmed cases totaled 15,395 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 300 deaths. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 111,577. Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,615.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard Tuesday, 11,137,889 vaccines have been administered across this state; 56 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 50 percent have been fully vaccinated. Here in Floyd County, 46 percent of residents have had at least a dose, while 42 percent are now fully vaccinated.
