AAA: GEORGIA’S GAS PRICES ROSE SLIGHTLY OVER THE PAST WEEK

Georgia’s gas prices increased slightly over the past week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists statewide now pay an average of $3.25 per gallon of regular unleaded. That is two cents more than a week ago, 27 cents more than a week ago, 27 cents more than last month, and $1.29 more than at this time last year.

It now costs $48.75 to fill up a 15-gallon tank of gasoline; that’s $11.88 more than what motorists paid in January of 2020, when pump prices hit their peak of $2.46 per gallon.

Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA, indicates, “For the past two weeks, Georgians have seen an eight to nine cent increase at the pumps. Fortunately, due to the drop in demand, we were able to see modest relief at gas stations across the state.”

Sunday’s national average of $3.40 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is two cents more than a week ago, 22 cents more than a month ago, and $1.27 more than at this time last year.
