CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

According to the latest update from the Georgia Department of Public Health this past Friday afternoon, a total of 1,263,757 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported across the state since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll stands at 24,786. There have been 15,426 confirmed cases in Floyd County, which has also had 304 fatalities. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 111,882, while Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,634.

As of the most recent update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard this past Friday, 11,250,022 vaccines have been administered across Georgia; 56 percent of all residents have received at least a dose of the vaccine, and 50 percent are now fully vaccinated. In Floyd County, 46 percent have had at least one dose, and 42 percent are now fully vaccinated.
