It is Election Day! Polls will be open from 7 am until 7 pm in the municipal general election.
The voters in the City of Rome will determine who should fill three posts in Ward Two of the City Commission. The candidates include the incumbents Jamie Doss and Randy Quick, as well as challengers Elaina Beeman, LuGina Brown, Victor Hixon, and Tyrone Holland. All seven spots on the Rome City Schools’ Board of Education are up for a vote in this election. The candidates include incumbents Will Byington, Faith Collins, Melissa Davis, Jill Fisher, Alvin Jackson, and John Uldrick, along with their challengers Tracy McDew, Pascha Burge, and Ron Roach.
Three City Council posts are up for grabs in Cave Spring. For Post 3, Nellie McCain is running for re-election versus Jason West. The incumbent Charles Jackson faces opposition from Stacey Royston in the race for Post 4. And in the race for Post 5, the incumbent Nancy Fricks is being challenged by Steven Pierce.
