A total of 685 new cases of coronavirus and 53 more virus-related deaths were reported in Georgia on Wednesday by the state’s Department of Public Health.
According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,266,880 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 24,974. The number of confirmed cases totaled 15,471 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 305 deaths. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 112,231. Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,648.
As of the most recent update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard on Wednesday, 11,403,626 vaccines have been administered across this state; 56 percent of Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 50 percent have been fully vaccinated. Here in Floyd County, 46 percent of residents have had at least a dose, while 43 percent are now fully vaccinated.
