According to the latest update from the Georgia Department of Public Health this past Friday afternoon, a total of 1,268,462 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported across the state since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll stands at 25,094. There have been 15,490 confirmed cases in Floyd County, which has also had 306 fatalities. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 112,397, while Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,654.
As of the most recent update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard this past Friday, 11,467,501 vaccines have been administered across Georgia; 56 percent of all residents have received at least a dose of the vaccine, and 50 percent are now fully vaccinated. In Floyd County, 46 percent have had at least one dose, and 43 percent are now fully vaccinated.
