A total of 2,224 new cases of coronavirus and 97 more virus-related fatalities were reported across Georgia on Tuesday by the state’s Department of Public Health.
According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,270,625 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 25,189. The number of confirmed cases totaled 15,512 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 306 deaths. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 112,650. Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,657.
As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard Tuesday, 11,584,661 vaccines have been administered across this state; 57 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 50 percent have been fully vaccinated. Here in Floyd County, 47 percent of residents have had at least a dose, while 43 percent are now fully vaccinated.
