SALVATION ARMY OF ROME, GA REOPENS FAMILY STORE ON EAST SECOND AVENUE, SEEKS VOLUNTEERS FOR THE HOLIDAYS

The Salvation Army of Rome, GA’s Family Store has officially reopened at 308 East 2nd Avenue. The last official day of business at the West Rome store was this past Saturday.

Captain Tim Blevins believes that the non-profit organization can better serve the community by moving their store downtown.

Captain Paula Blevins encourages the public to visit the Family Store, as you never know what you will find!

Store hours are Monday thru Saturday from 10 am until 6 pm. The big move comes just in time for Christmas shopping. And speaking of Christmas…

The local Salvation Army now seeks volunteers and donations for the holiday season. The Red Kettle campaign will kick off on Friday with a special event at Hobby Lobby on Shorter Avenue, says Captain Tim Blevins.

Volunteer bell ringers are needed for this year’s Red Kettle campaign, asserts Captain Paula Blevins.

Those who would like to pitch in their assistance should contact the Salvation Army of Rome at (706) 291-4745. And when you see those bell ringers, drop some change into their kettles.

Applications for the Angel Tree program, via which children and families in need are provided with new toys and clothing at Christmas, will be accepted through November 30th, as indicated by Captain Paula Blevins.
