CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH; FREE COVID-19 TEST SITES IN NORTHWEST HEALTH DISTRICT WILL CLOSE NOVEMBER 25TH AND 26TH FOR THANKSGIVING

A total of 911 new cases of coronavirus and 42 more virus-related deaths were reported across Georgia on Thursday by the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,276,919 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 25,511. The number of confirmed cases totaled 15,599 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 308 deaths. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 113,414. Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,671.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard Thursday, 11,891,346 vaccines have been administered across the state; 57 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 51 percent have been fully vaccinated.

According to the DPH’s Northwest Health District, the free COVID-19 test sites located in Bartow, Catoosa, Floyd, and Paulding counties will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25, and on Friday, November 26. Regular days and hours of operation will resume Monday, November 29.
