ROME NOON OPTIMIST CLUB WILL BE ‘FLIPPING FOR YOUTH’ AT 61ST ANNUAL PANCAKE BREAKFAST

The Rome Noon Optimist Club will be ‘Flipping for Youth’ at its 61st annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday from 6 am to 11 am at the Rome Civic Center on Jackson Hill.

Chaplain David Thornton of the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, club member, says that the event will be drive-thru only again this year.

Tickets are $7 in advance and $8 at the door. Sausage is also available in one pound packets for $5 each.

The goal for this year’s Pancake Breakfast is $48,000. Proceeds will benefit the Rome Noon Optimist Club’s youth-related projects. This is the club’s lone fundraiser of the year, according to member Dale Styers.

Thornton attests that club members savor the opportunity for fellowship that is provided by volunteering at the breakfast.

Styers adds that the club is very appreciative of the community’s support of the event each year.

Tickets to the Pancake Breakfast may be purchased from any member of the Rome Noon Optimist Club and at the Georgia’s Rome Gift Shop on Jackson Hill during normal business hours.
