CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 838 new cases of coronavirus and 29 more virus-related deaths were reported across Georgia Wednesday by the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,281,495 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 25,650. The number of confirmed cases totaled 15,661 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 311 deaths. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 113,939. Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,677.

As of the most recent update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard on Wednesday, 12,099,143 have been administered statewide; 58 percent of Georgians have received at least a dose, and 51 percent have been fully vaccinated.
