CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 2,945 new cases of coronavirus and 57 more virus-related fatalities were reported across Georgia on Monday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,284,354 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 25,704. The number of confirmed cases totaled 15,677 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 312 deaths. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 114,276. Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,678.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard Monday, 12,207,489 vaccines have been administered across the state; 58 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 51 percent have been fully vaccinated.
