ROME CHRISTMAS PARADE SET FOR TONIGHT!

The Rome Christmas Parade is scheduled to make its way down Broad Street this evening at 6:30 pm.

The parade will return to downtown Rome in 2021 after being held in 2020 as a drive-thru event at State Mutual Stadium, the home of the Rome Braves. The theme this year is “It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas”. Janet Byington, co-chair, believes that this theme offers both religious and secular appeal.

Local journalist Doug Walker will serve as the Grand Marshal for the parade, which will wrap up with an appearance by Santa Claus. Mrs. Claus was with him last year, muses Byington.

The Rome Christmas Parade is an annual holiday tradition for so many local families, including Byington’s.
