CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 1,171 new cases of coronavirus and 37 more virus-related deaths were reported in Georgia on Wednesday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,286,391 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 25,748. The number of confirmed cases totaled 15,717 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 313 deaths. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 114,501. Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,681.

As of the most recent update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard on Wednesday, 12,286,041 vaccines have been administered across this state; 58 percent of Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 51 percent have been fully vaccinated.
