CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 2,707 new cases of coronavirus and 36 more virus-related fatalities were reported across Georgia on Monday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,298,505 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 25,973. The number of confirmed cases totaled 15,893 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 319 deaths. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 115,781. Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,702.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard Monday, 12,754,280 vaccines have been administered across the state; 59 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 52 percent have been fully vaccinated. Among those fully vaccinated Georgians, 25 percent have had an additional dose; 13 percent of residents statewide have had the booster.
