A total of 2,054 new cases of coronavirus and 23 more virus-related deaths were reported in Georgia on Wednesday by the state’s Department of Public Health.
According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,301,663 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 26,007. The number of confirmed cases totaled 15,925 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 319 deaths. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 116,099. Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,703.
As of the most recent update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard on Wednesday, 12,839,683 vaccines have been administered across this state; 59 percent of Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 52 percent have been fully vaccinated. Among fully vaccinated Georgians, 25 percent have had an additional dose, while 13 percent of residents statewide have had the booster.
