Floyd County PAWS (or Public Animal Welfare Services), 99 North Avenue, has scheduled an adoption event for Saturday from 1 pm to 4 pm. According to Jeff Mitchell, Director, no appointment is needed. Most of the animals that are up for adoption have already been spayed or neutered.
The adoption fees are $35 per feline and $40 per canine. An application may be completed in advance online at www.floydcountyga.gov or in person, says Mitchell.
Mitchell adds that if you have been thinking about giving a pet to someone as a Christmas gift this year, make sure in advance that the recipient is ready for that responsibility.
