CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

According to the latest update from the Georgia Department of Public Health this past Friday afternoon, a total of 1,305,860 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported across the state since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll stands at 26,090. There have been 15,976 confirmed cases in Floyd County, which has also had 320 fatalities. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 116,527, while Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,709.

As of the most recent update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard this past Friday, 12,919,721 vaccines have been administered across Georgia; 59 percent of all residents have received at least a dose of the vaccine, and 52 percent are now fully vaccinated. Among fully vaccinated Georgians, 26 percent have had an additional dose; 13 percent of residents statewide have had the booster.
