THE HOLIDAYS ARE OVER, NOW THE KIDS ARE HEADED BACK TO SCHOOL!

The holiday break has concluded, and classes resume for the Rome City and Floyd County Schools today.

It was announced last week that Rome City Schools will require masks for all faculty, staff, and students upon their return to the classroom in 2022. This is due to concern over the COVID-19 omicron variant, as well as an increase in flu and stomach virus cases. Officials will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates.

Face coverings will also be required to begin this new year over at Darlington School, which resumes classes on Wednesday. For full COVID-19 protocol updates, visit www.darlingtonschool.org.

Local motorists should be conscientious of an uptick in traffic this week as the holiday break concludes and students head back to school.
