South Rome Alliance is excited about the arrival of 2022. The organization has big plans for this new year, according to Jake Hager, Executive Director. Those include a groundbreaking for the South Meadows apartment homes on Pollock Street later this month. Hager encourages the public to stay tuned to social media for updates.
South Meadows will feature 80 mixed-income housing units in South Rome; the goal is to meet the housing needs of the community as a whole, indicates Hager.
SRA will team with the City of Rome’s Office of Community Development’s Community Housing Investment Program (CHIP) to build three new homes, two on Pennington Avenue and one on Orchid Place. Construction will begin in February and is slated for completion this May or June, says Hager.
