SALVATION ARMY OF ROME CONTINUES TO SEEK DONATIONS (POST HOLIDAY), REMINDS THE PUBLIC OF ITS WHITE FLAG PROGRAM AMID CHILLY TEMPS IN THE FORECAST

The Salvation Army of Rome seeks monetary donations from the public, in light of a decrease in contributions to the annual Red Kettle campaign during the holiday season.

Captain Tim Blevins indicates that Red Kettle revenues declined by about 16 percent in ’21. He expresses his gratitude to all who donated and to those who served as bell ringers for the campaign.

Those totals were strictly for the physical Red Kettle, according to Blevins, who adds that the final numbers for their virtual campaign and for electronic contributions have yet to be released.

Concerned citizens may send their checks via mail to the Salvation Army of Rome, 317 East 1st Avenue, Rome, Georgia 30161. Monetary donations may also be made online at www.salvationarmygeorgia.org/rome. Another way to support the organization is to shop at its Family Store.

And with chilly temperatures in the forecast for the coming days and nights, Captain Blevins reminds the public that the Salvation Army of Rome is ready to provide warm shelter to those in need. Just look for the White Flag, which is raised any time temperatures drop to 32 degrees or below.
