CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH; THREE MORE ROME CITY SCHOOLS MOVED TO PHASE TWO OF COVID-19 PLAN

A total of 18,556 new cases of coronavirus and 51 more virus-related deaths were reported across Georgia on Thursday by the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just after 3 pm, there have been 1,511,810 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 26,523.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard Thursday, 13,528,533 vaccines have been administered across this state; 61 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 53 percent have been fully vaccinated. Among those fully vaccinated Georgians, 32 percent have had an additional dose; 17 percent of residents statewide have had the booster.
