COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOLS OF ROME-FLOYD COUNTY AGAIN JOINS ANNUAL OBSERVANCE OF NATIONAL MENTORING MONTH IN JANUARY

Communities in Schools of Rome-Floyd County has once again joined the annual observance of National Mentoring Month in January.

Gregory Wooten, Executive Director, attests that new mentors are currently needed to positively influence the lives of local students.

The relationship between a mentor and a mentee is mutually beneficial, states Wooten.

CIS’ mentoring program has been challenged over recent days with limited access to schools because of coronavirus concerns, says Wooten. However, mentors remain ready to serve when granted access once again.

Those interested in serving as a mentor or as a volunteer should reach out to Wooten via email at [email protected]. Contact Communities in Schools of Rome-Floyd County via telephone at (706) 802-5740. Concerned citizens who wish to submit a financial contribution to the cause may donate online at www.cisrome-floyd.org.

The mission of Communities in Schools of Rome-Floyd County, as indicated on the site, is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
