CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 38,973 new cases of coronavirus and 80 more virus-related deaths were reported across Georgia on Monday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,765,900 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 27,116. The number of confirmed cases totaled 21,242 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 335 fatalities. Fulton County has had the most confirmed cases in this state with 168,926 and the most deaths with 1,774.

As of Monday’s update to the vaccine dashboard, 13,967,538 vaccines have been administered across the state; 62 percent of all Georgians have received at least one dose, while 54 percent have been fully vaccinated. Among fully vaccinated Georgians, 37 percent have had an additional dose; 20 percent of residents statewide have had the booster.
