CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 13,913 new cases of coronavirus and 93 more virus-related deaths were reported in Georgia on Wednesday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,791,344 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 27,284. The number of confirmed cases totaled 21,510 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 337 fatalities. Fulton County has had the most confirmed cases in this state with 171,941 and the most deaths with 1,783.

As of the Wednesday update to the vaccine dashboard, 14,005,420 vaccines have been administered statewide; 62 percent of all Georgians have received at least one dose, while 54 percent have been fully vaccinated. Among fully vaccinated Georgians, 37 percent have had an additional dose; 20 percent of residents statewide have had the booster.
