TAKE A HIKE THIS WINTER AT GEORGIA STATE PARKS AND HISTORIC SITES!

You may not think of Winter as an ideal time to take a hike. However, this is a great season for optimal views of the forests around North Georgia, asserts Kim Hatcher, Public Affairs Coordinator for Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites, who adds that these barren trees allow for better visibility of waterfalls, boulders, and more.

Hatcher attests that it is a lot easier to reserve a campsite at parks around the state in the Winter than in the Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Hatcher recommends that visitors stay in a heated yurt at Cloudland Canyon State Park in Rising Fawn.
