AAA: GEORGIA’S GAS PRICES JUMP SEVEN CENTS

Georgia’s gas prices jumped over the past week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists statewide now pay the average of $3.20 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline. That’s seven cents more than a week ago, 10 cents more than last month, and 96 cents more than at this same time last year.

It currently costs motorists in the Peach State a total of $48 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline.

Montrae Waiters, spokesperson for AAA, indicates, “Georgia motorists saw a jump at the pump this weekend. The probable causes for the increase appear to be the rise in crude oil prices and the possibility of war in the Ukraine.”

Waiters adds that, “Georgians should anticipate gas prices to continue to rise, especially by the Spring driving season.”

Sunday’s national average of $3.36 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is four cents more than last week, eight cents more than last month and 94 cents more than at this same time last year.
